The 2nd Annual Liver Symposium will be discussing cutting edge innovations in liver transplantation and care of the patient with end stage liver disease. Participants will also get a chance to meet Tampa General Hospital’s new Director and Associate Director of Liver Transplant. The agenda also includes the various types of liver transplants TGH is performing, including living donor transplants, split liver transplants, HIV patients and cholangiocarcinomas.

Registrations must include full tuition payment to be processed. Registrations without payment will not be accepted. Please provide a valid email address. All confirmations and other communications will be sent via e-mail. No cancellation refunds.

Event Information
Program Description: The symposium will highlight the latest treatment options on viral hepatitis; end stage liver disease; alcoholic liver disease; auto-immune disease; primary biliary cirrhosis; non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH); bariatric surgery; oncology updates on hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC); interventional radiology updates; hepatobiliary surgical cases; liver transplant updates; transplant coordinator on the transplant process; advanced gastrointestinal endoscopy in liver disease; and palliative treatment in liver disease.
Target Audience: Gastroenterologists, Surgeons, Oncologists, PCPs, and Infectious Disease Specialists, including MDs, ARNPs, PAs and RNs
Learning Objectives: Upon completion of this course, learners will be able to:
- Identify when to refer the patient to a Specialist for further work-up
- Define how to discuss with patients the steps necessary to develop a differential diagnosis
- Describe how to discuss the continued plan of care with patients once a diagnosis has been found
- Identify which patients may be eligible for locoregional therapy, surgery, transplant and/or palliative treatment
- Describe to the patient the disease process, treatment options, potential referrals, and rationales
Overall learning objectives apply to all professions in the target audience.
