As a result of participating in this activity, learners will be able to:
Review guideline based diagnostic evaluation and indication for referral in patients with mitral valve disease, identify contemporary catheter-based and surgical options for treatment of mitral stenosis and regurgitation in the adult population, including comparative clinical trial data, discuss future therapies being developed and studied in both the trans-catheter and surgical space, and discuss the management strategies established at TGH to offer the full spectrum of clinical and academic options to patients presenting with valvular heart disease.
